What actually moves the number is the advance work, the hours, and whether the same officers can be held for the whole engagement. Longer bookings cost proportionally less; short-notice and unsocial hours cost more.
If a firm quotes you materially below this range, ask who is being paid what — the shortfall almost always comes out of vetting, insurance or the officer.
What the estimate cannot know
It cannot see the advance work a particular week needs, whether the same officers can be held for the whole engagement, how much travel and waiting sits between the covered hours, or whether a survey would reduce the hours entirely. Those are the four things that actually move a real proposal — which is why the honest output here is a range, and the honest next step is a conversation.
