Some things are worth more than the vehicle carrying them.
When value moves, the risk is rarely the destination. It is the pavement outside it, the loading bay, the hour the journey was predictable enough to be worth waiting for.
What we escort
We accompany the asset and the person responsible for it — from door to door, with one officer accountable for the whole movement:
- Jewellery, watches and loose stones between workshop, vault, valuer and client
- Art and antiques to and from auction, fair, restorer or private sale
- Documents, prototypes and data where the loss is commercial rather than monetary
- Bloodstock and livestock movements where the asset travels in a horsebox
- Personal collections during a house move, refurbishment or probate
How a movement is run
Advance first: the route driven at the hour it will actually be driven, the loading and unloading points walked, the waiting positions agreed, and the receiving party briefed so the handover is a formality rather than a doorstep conversation. Timings vary between movements — a schedule that repeats is the single most useful thing you can give someone watching.
On the day the asset travels with its escort, not behind it. The vehicle is unremarkable, the officers are dressed for the destination rather than the job, and the only people who know the timing are the ones who need to.
What this is not — and why that matters
This is discreet accompanied movement by SIA-licensed close protection officers. It is not cash-in-transit in armoured vehicles, which is a separate regulated activity with its own licensing and insurance regime, and it is not armed — no private security company in Great Britain may carry firearms. Anyone implying otherwise has told you something important about how they work.
Where a movement genuinely needs an armoured carrier or a vaulted facility, we will say so and introduce you to a firm that is licensed for it. That referral costs us a job and keeps you out of a bad one.
Insurance and paperwork
High-value movements usually sit inside somebody’s policy — a jeweller’s block, a fine-art transit cover, a private collection schedule — and those policies frequently specify how the item must be accompanied. We will read the requirement before the movement and work to it, so the cover is intact if it is ever needed. An NDA is standard, and we do not photograph or describe what we move.
