Watford: London’s edge, with a film studio attached.

Watford sits where London stops and Hertfordshire begins — the Metropolitan and Overground lines, the M1 and M25 within minutes, a large retail centre at the middle of it. Its money lives in Cassiobury and Nascot Wood and out toward Chorleywood and Rickmansworth, in screened houses on the Chiltern edge, and the film studios at Leavesden a few miles north bring high-profile productions and their principals through on a rolling basis.
