FIRST CLASSEXECUTIVE SECURITY

Devon: second-home money at the end of a long drive.

Devon’s wealth is coastal and seasonal: the estuary towns and the South Hams around Salcombe and the Dart, the moorland houses on the edge of Dartmoor, and a second-home economy that fills and empties with the year. It is a county of distance — the nearest alternative firm is often hours away — and of properties chosen precisely for their seclusion, which is exactly what makes a considered survey worth more here than a camera contract.

So our Devon work is overwhelmingly residential: protective surveys for the estuary, coastal and moor-edge houses, where isolation is both the appeal and the weakness, and secure driving and close protection across a large, rural county where response time is a function of who is already in the region. We plan for the season, when a quiet lane becomes a busy one and a second home becomes a full one.

An illustrative scenario

The kind of house the South Hams produces: a waterside property whose remoteness felt like safety until a survey showed how visible its routines were from the water.

Local context — the Devon area

Sampled at Totnes, recorded crime is very low — this is deep rural Devon, not a high-incident setting. Most of our work reflects that: prevention, discretion, and covering the distances that make the county what it is.

Violence

These are anonymised, approximate map-point figures for roughly a one-mile radius — never a specific street, property or person — for the most recent month published. “Violence” is the Home Office “violence and sexual offences” category — a broad measure spanning harassment and common assault through to serious violence, much of it domestic or inside licensed premises. It is not a measure of targeted risk to a protected client.
